| some Time ago MANNY COTO said in an Interview that he looks also for Ideas and Scripts of Fans to rescue the Series "Enterprise". following this Call I wrote a Script in the Style of the former Movies, a Story in that HOSHI has a big Appearance and in that also is solved the Secret of the BRÎN.
but where exactly I must send these Ideas?
that Adress seems not to be correct:
Manny Coto Paramount Studios 5555 Melrose Avenue Hollywood, CA 90038 USA
certain extraordinary Findings let appear the Case more and more grotesquely! |

| My own hunch is that Enterprise is pretty much dead in the water. I don't think it has to do with the performances of the actors, but rather the stunted vision post Gene Roddenbury's death. If we look at the cardinal sins of the entertainment industry, the number one rule you cannot break (which is still broken over and over again) is: Thou Shall Not Bore.
Unfortunately, the novelty of what Enterprise was supposed to be seemed to die out very quickly mainly because the producers failed to realize something: after Star Trek, STNG, STV, STDSN, if you were going to do any of the following it would be pretty darn boring:
1.) deal with time travel 2.) deal with away teams in the same typical manner as they did in other Star Trek episodes (Can we say, "been there, done that" (BTDT) a few thousand times? 3.) meet aliens that look humanoid or remarkably like humans. BTDT. 4.) deal with reasonable people and civilizations, or vice versa. BTDT. 5.) deal with a limited number of space ships each episide. BTDT. 6.) deal with technology issues, ponder the philosophical ramifications of inventions and discoveries. BTDT. 7.) each episode conforming to the same ol' story aboard a spaceship.
No.
No no no.
I'm afraid the only way Enterprise may have had a chance was if: 1.) there was nothing about time travel. 2.) they ended up meeting aliens of different races which were not humanoid at all. They could be much, much larger, or much smaller. 3.) again, some humanoid aliens. But a lot that weren't. 4.) dealt with groups that were never explained. Everything gets explained too much in Star Trek -- where's the mystery? There isn't any. 5.) Let's face it, special effects aside, seeing a multitude of space ships is interesting. Makes things more interesting. Same goes for interstellar warfare. The Enterprise could have fallen into the middle of a few wars from time to time and not have enough info to know what to do about it. Again, keeping it ambiguous would have been good. 6.) Technological ponderings should have been avoided. BTDT. Instead just focus on how to survive for three to four years. 7.) Star Trek Enterprise could have been about what it takes to make inroads into the galaxy -- maybe more political intrigue. Maybe they joined the rest of the interstellar community on the eve of a tremendous war. And the maybe the Earth was warned that they would have to stockpile to keep themselves safe.
If so have the series could have been about warfare and the stress and pain that occurs when dealing with war. This could be a good platform to talk about the problems of warfare, and thus be socially relevant to the war in IRAQ. The original STAR TREK was broadcast during Vietnam. And if there's one thing that a lot of people in that generation connected to was STAR TREK because the issues of war were discussed by the show.
Enterprise could have been a great platform to talk about the pains of war. It could have been about the disillusionment of youth who leave the academy to simply be blown to smitherines.
But alas, was it?
Battlestar Galactica seems to work simply because it's about war on some level. And it does what I am describing to some extent. But overall, Enterprise would have been far more interesting if they producers had gone in that direction. |

| | Some of us liked Enterprise just fine (could have used more Hoshi, though!), and some of us also believe that studio politics did it in. ENT was ENT and BSG is BSG and if they were all the same they would be Law and Order. wollem |

| I believe anything is possible. I think the best place to get hold of Manny is at Fox's 24, where he's working right now. I don't have the address, but look to who produces the show and send there. That's what I would do. I think sending someone to Manny at Paramount is a good as sending it into a black hole.

| | Hello all, Its Phil from York in the UK. If you can imagine Great Britain in your mind, and pin point half way up - I live around there. I hadn't realised that there is a forum for every member of the cast for enterprise. I had sent a couple of posts on the forum for Connor Trinneer through a link from startrek.com (where I spend most of my time attempting to be a trekkie!). I think the reason Enterprise went down the swanny (British term of phrase) was because the main aspect of Star Trek was the superior technology. All of a sudden Enterprise came out, a prequel to the original series, and the jazzy gadgets were gone. Most people have said to me that they didn't like the going back in time thing and I think that is why it wasn't so popular. I think if they bring out a new series in the tng timeframe, Star Trek would return to its former glory. But I am different to everyone else (as if you didn't know) as I liked the 'going back in time' thing and I think the cast and crew did a fine job at illustrating it. If they should bring out a new series, I would want the Enterprise crew in it!!! I think out of all the crews, the Star Trek Enterprise crew has defo been my favourite. They have my kind of sense of humour and I think thats why I have always liked the show. Linda Park was just ace in "In a Mirror Darkly" - she played the character really well considering the role was a completely different personality. It would be hard to imagine Hoshi being a (not to put too finer point on it) trollop with hidden machinations - but Linda park made it look so believable. She is such a gifted actress. Scott Bakula, Jolene Blalock, Connor Trinneer and of course Linda Park leave me in absolute awe because I they each have such great talent. I can't say "Enterprise went down the swanny" because in my mind it didn't. It won some valuable rewards for special effects and such like - so it was a big achievement. In my country, Star Trek switched channels from BBC2 early evenings to Channel 4 Sunday afternoons which would not have helped the UK ratings. Half of the time I didn't even know it was on because Channel 4 didn't advertise it well enough. Hense, I had to buy the box set to catch up on the episodes I missed. I would like to give the people at channel 4 a 'Billy Beeting' for that. I have got to set off soon, I have a large job on today and not looking forward to it because it isn't really my area of expertice, so wish me luck! (Besides if you have read to this point you must be flippin knackered!) Cheerio!

| | Well Phil, you're not alone! I'm a Brit AND I liked the "going back in time" theme of Enterprise. I'm a long time Star Trek fan and Enterprise is my favourite series of the lot. The actors were the best around and it's a crying shame they're not finishing filming a 5th season. We had a Save Enterprise campaign....maybe it's time for a Bring Enterprise Back campaign....... |

I know, I know, I wish I could share your optimism. I doubt very much we can reinstate enterprise now, particularly after 'these are the voyages'. Don't know if you concur but I think they insulted all Enterprise fans globally in the end..for instance 1 Killed off a member of the cast 2 It was the last ever Star Trek as we know it. 3 We never got to see Archer make his speech. 4 The galaxy class Enterprise didn't look anything like the one in the Next Gen. and was extremely obvious... 5 Channel 4 puts Stargate on before Enterprise and if that wasn't enough on T4 on a flipping Sunday afternoon when most sane people are asleep. Certainly raises more questions than answers! What is the world coming to? Anyway, at least I have a box set of all 4 seasons to remember it all by. Lets be thankful for small favours!
