OK, here's a little report for you (I just got back from Fulda and I am tired). Connor was great as usual and in fact he has grown so much as a convention performer, it is almost unbelievable. He started his Q&A showing baby pictures of Jasper (and himself!) on the screen and I thought that was the cutest thing I ever saw. Connor on stage is witty and funny and as we were sitting quite up front (my partner is currently slightly disabled) we could watch every expression (not to mention his belly when he decided to raise his arms :-), I hope we got a photo of that). We clearly could tell he was enjoying himself. Most questions were of the usual kind, but one jumps to mind from his panel a day later: "Would you let your son play with your Trip action figure". Connor's response: "Sure, I would tell him: "This is a daddy doll. Daddy doll is always watching you, so be good. I would empower the doll with fatherly powers!".

The photoshoot with him was also a lot of fun, I got me a hug and during the shoot he was constantly tapping me on the back. Unfortunately the photographer f**cked up that photo really bad (The color's all wrong and even Connor looks drab on it, not to mention myself). See if I can repair things with a bit of photoshop.

I missed most of his panel Q&A since I was caught up with a little bout of con-sickness on Sunday (too warm, not enough oxygen, not enough to drink, emotions, dehydration, partying all night etc.) but I got the last 15 minutes or so from it. I also did not see him adjudicating the costume contest which I heard later was also great. During the autograph session we spend a minute or two talking whether he would be interested in coming to Holland for a con. Well, the eyes lit up and he was all enthousiastic, especially when we referred him to Dominic for an inside view (who favoured us with his presence just a few months ago). So we'll see how that works itself out.

Other than that, we stumbled into each other from time to time in elevator's and it was always "Hi, how are you", or "Hey guys!", smile, smile etc etc..

The rest of the con was great as well, and my favourite guest this time was not Connor but George Takei whom we had dinner with on Sunday.  We spend a lot of time talking about George's efforts to help create a better world among other's for gay and lesbian people. We also met George's life partner Brad this weekend. Other guests that spring to mind are two sweethearts: Farscape's Gigi Edgley and Angel' s Andy Hallett: both really adorable persons and very approachable since they had their own tables and you could walk in for chats and stuff any time. That's also what I would like to see Connor do sometime, BTW,  IMHO.

There was a third sweetheart (but he'll probably kill me if I call him that in public): Christian Kane. A very talented performer and once you get through the rough country looks a wonderful guy. Chris did a concert with his C&W buddies which was a hoot and he also teamed up with Andy and Gigi for the closing ceremony: Andy sang and Gigi twirled her fire-poi on 'Sweet Home Alabama".

So that's it, I will hopefully find some time this week to post our photos on the web and let you know they're there.

If anyone meets Connor at the London Expo, tell him I said Hi and just enjoy him, he's great!

The name's just Ron, but I doubt wether he will remember me by name (which is such a common one). Maybe it would be better just to tell him that a Dutch fan from FedCon says hi. But first and foremost focus on your own experience with him, I had mine already :cool.

I am so looking forward to it.

Were you allowed to take photos at the signing table or just the offical ones.?

It sounds like you had a great time.

Well, the way FedCon does it means that you can get anything signed (within certain limits, of course) but they give you a complimentary picture anyway. Con belonged to the 'freebies', the autographs that come with the ticket. I got his photo shoot photo from Las Vegas signed as well as a Trip action figure I had double, which will be auctioned off in a charity event later this year.

I have no idea how London Expo  does things, it may be that you have to buy their photos, it may be that you can bring your own stuff but still pay the full prize, I have no idea.

The price you pay for an autograph at Expo includes a free official photo - you choose from what the stars have available at the table.  You can have other items signed instead if you want, but there won't be a reduction in price.

You're not allowed to pose with the actors for photos at Expo, but someone can take a photo of you while you get your autograph.  Most of the actors will have an official photo session, for which you pay extra.  It's worth the money if only because the pictures turn out much better, and since they're taken digitally they can check your picture is okay - no one with their eyes shut or face screwed up etc - before they let you go.  And you get to spend a couple of minutes more with the actor/s of you choice.

I kind of got that impression from the boards on the Xpo site.

A few years ago they did allow it and i got some excellent photos with various people, but never mind, my sister will be clicking away.
