Try writing your screenplays down. It's a lot of fun. I used to run around at airports, handing out copies of my stories, figuring that someone was bound to get bored enough on the plane to read them. I guess I just didn't hand them to the right people though, because I never did get that special call offering me millions for a book deal. I'm sure I just didn't select the billionaire film producer, publisher types carefully enough, even though I tried to stay away from economy class.
Or... maybe I just suck?
Naaah.
What kind of roles did you have in mind for Connor?

No, I didn't mean I wasn't writing them down, just not down completely yet. I've got like 4 or 5 things going at a time, and then life tends to interrupt the process (or just certain people that claim they will not bother me while I am writing and never follow through on that). I'm just glad that the ideas usually come into my mind completely and vividly so that when I don't get the opportunity to get it down on paper, or what have you, I don't lose the story.

Anyway, as for roles for Connor, nothing where his character gets killed! No, just pretty meaty dramatic stuff. Can't say more because I'm not much of a sharer. I learned at a very young age that if you don't share things (that are still in progress) with people, they can't take them away from you and you are free to complete your vision your own way! That being said, what kind of stuff do you write?

I don't have a problem with sharing because I know that if someone wants to steal from you, they will. Unless I plan to keep my stuff private forever, I will have to show it to somebody at some point in time. The average person on the internet (or someone you meet on the street) might be random and possibly untrustworthy, but I am far more suspicious of people who have the means to dupe me. They usually have money and the position to back themselves up, not to mention friends all over in high places. If someone like THAT wanted my stories and they were the FIRST I showed them to - whoops! Stupid me. I learned that lesson early when I composed a song and shared it with the leader of the school band. Everyone knew him and his singer and no one knew me. I showed it to him hoping to collaborate further - and what do you think happened? Suddenly he and his singer had no more time for me and the next time they performed, they played a song with circa 75% similarity to mine. When I complained, no one took me seriously. After all - who was I? As far as everyone was concerned, I was just pissed that they had rejected me.
If I had shown more people what I'd worked on, I would have had some form of a case. That is why I present my material on the internet and let people talk about it, criticize it and associate it with me. The more that see it, the merrier. I am leaving my traces and getting excellent feedback in the process - and even though I know I don't stand a chance against one of those "rich people" (the sort with all the connections we've been complaining about), I will nonetheless have a very large audience to whine to.

That is my philosophy, but I can understand your fears. Creative theft is like somebody ripping something out of you; it is irrevocable and leaves you feeling used and empty, as though someone has just raped your brain.

I write all kinds of things, from humorous anecdotes to horror stories. I even have a novel that's almost finished. I've never created a character with an actor in mind, however. I tend to whip up their appearances in my head and then try to draw them on paper, so I wouldn't really know how to cast my stories at all. I just know one thing - any attempt to put people like Tom Cruise or Arnold Schwarzeneggar in a role of mine would result in immediate withdrawal of any existing agreements. I would, in fact, be in favor of casting lesser known actors in general, to free my stories of any sort of preconceived judgement.

Could you imagine Connor in a horror story? As a good guy or a bad guy? Or perhaps the tragic anti-hero?
