Well girl-Bob and I were only there on Friday of course.  Had to do the usual city stuff on Saturday.  I think the funniest thing the whole evening (other than trying to stay awake by trying to write "avoid me" on napkins.. on our foreheads.. with our left hands... in cursive, lol we're horrible influences on each other..) was when I was telling Bob that before we had to do anything, we should see where Max was going to be, got out of the car and bam, there he was. "Found him!" lol.  That's when we found out he and Chase were on first, not Dominic, which was sort of a surprise to the three of us, but... you know how these cons are.

The man's got good eyes or I had a very obvious shirt 'cause there was one point in the Q&A where a man at the front asked a REAL good question, Max said he wished the guy had had the mic because it was so good and didn't want to repeat it and mess it up, looked back into the audience and called out "Mirrani, could you hear that?…" *blink* "Um… no?" I never fail to be stunned when this happens. He then jumped down to give the guy the mic.  I don't remember the question, but it /was/ a good one!  I think the answer was "Yes." lol

We had like ... the five seconds it took Dominic to sign your stuff and that was it with him really.  Spent way more time with Max since he was there, so my report is going to be virtually useless on here.   If I post anything huge, it'll be in livejournal and I'll private tag it right away, seeing as it's mostly private conversations, so.. that'll be useless too.  I can say about the Q&A that Dominic did /not/ talk about the new movie, which ... if I'm guessing right.. is a bad sign for how he feels about it.  Well I'm not /exactly/ guessing but I'm not putting words in peoples mouths, even if they really said them. He did mention also that his part from Beowulf that was cut is in the DVD, so we know he knows that.   ... Um.. the Jolene thing in the car... And he'd done an ep of one of your ER like shows over there.  Oh, and he mentioned Heroes and Prison Break.  I was surprised not Species, considering when you'd seen him he leapt at the chance to add it to his list once reminded, seeing as how it was one he'd enjoyed and all, but.. *shrug*

I really enjoyed the skits in the evening.. and J.G. with the light blinding them as they got up there. "I say something, everyone ignores it, he says something and people are falling over backward to get it done."  They turned off the light when /Dominic/ asked. Maybe J.G. was too polite about it, but I didn't hear all of what he said at the time, you know sometimes I have a hard time hearing people talking into a mic.  J.G. also gave a play by play when Armin asked for something to be done.. or was it Max.. to have the main lights turned down.. it wasn't getting done so they asked again.. once or twice, then you heard J.G. "He's moving, he's moving quickly... he's at the switch..."

Anyway, it was the first time I'd seen Dominic do anything "live" before, so that was /very/ nice to see.. but you know me, there's part of a theater snob in there somewhere, just dying to bust out.  It really missed the serious discussions the Nanites have after a show or Con performance like that.  The rest of me knows nothing about anything and just enjoys it.   Editor vs. Observer or something I guess... That's a horrible title for a movie.. Don't ever try it. :p

The con was /tiny/ though.  There were ... do you remember the size of the room Eric had us in at Dragon Con.. Or wait.. I don't think you were there.. anyway, the vender's room was only that big.  I mean, I really only do the cons themselves for the Q&A of various people, search for an Alliance pin that will never exist and then sit around and do nothing for a long time.  Couldn't even help out at a table 'cause I was told I wasn't needed. :p I owe someone big time for all his time spent...   Mostly though, as you know, I go for the performances after the cons.  I actually contemplated /not/ getting the day tickets and just getting the theater stuff.  As it turned out that would have been okay, and we still would have seen everything but.. Eh.

We had a /really/ good time, stayed up /way/ too late... and hopefully were not responsible for distributing the flu!

Oh! And are you making it to the next one?  /Is/ there still a next one or did it get tossed, do we know?  I have been way too busy with Visitor Space to do anything.  I love Wildfire, but a break will do me good.

Sounds like you had a good time.  Wish I had been there... and yeah, thanks for getting that stuff signed for me.  My kids will be so happy. I'll have to present it to them in an assembly or something... get someone to take pictures.  LOL.  Could become an ongoing saga.

Sounds like things were pretty good up in convention-land... one of these days, I'll get there when stuff if going on.  And one of these days I'll get to see DK doing more than the usual with Connor - eeep, that sounds wrong somehow.  :/

Speaking of... as far as I know, and I checked the site earlier today, it's still going on and all being well I should be there.  It's in July isn't it?  Which is after schools break up here... though I think we break late this year.   Still, I could always flight right into Boston... and if not, there's always Vegas, right?

I haven't the foggiest when it is. lol.  I just remember talking about going with you... maybe stopping by a track on the way or on the way back if we drove.  You could fly right in, I guess, but that'd make it a hassle going back, if you do go back.

And you /know/ how crazy Vegas is.  It's a bunch of running around and trying to find people.  Remember, last year they had our folks /schmoozing/ before the show. *rolling eyes*  And we never did .. well /you/ ran into people, but they walked right past me.   Knowing how things work out, we'd be lucky to not be having to meet everyone for lunch or dinner when DK or someone else we want to see is on.  But hopefully we'll see the show.  We'll just have to make sure that dinner /isn't/ then.   I just think that between everyone going, coordinating things and our schedule is going to be hellish.

Yes, I remember the madness that was Vegas last year.  It was a good kind of madness though, that go me bitten by the con-bug.  Rotten that you missed folks though - I blame the con people personally, I mean sheesh, making someone smooze before they go on stage to perform?  Um... no, not the done thing.  Does that make me a theatre snob too?

But you're right about our scheduling this year.  I checked the school dates, and so long as the head disagregates the two teacher workdays (and he usually does), it would be a case of flying in on the thursday, for the con that weekend.  But that's the kind of crazy thing we do.  I guess we'll just have to see how the rest of the year works out with the other irons I have in the fire, so to speak.

I've put a few things up in my usual con report ish livejournal area.

Dominic kinda thinks that new movie is a bit rubbish. To put it politely and uncensored. He doesn't expect anything of it. He stepped in at the last minute and filmed 17 pages so he's not in it much either.

He was much more worried about his recent audition for Cold Case which seemed to go well, and that the UK sibs need to turn on the beeb and watch Holby City since he filmed an episode of that in the last few months. It hasn't aired yet as far as I know, I haven't been told by my parentals (who record every episode) that they've seen him so I don't expect it's aired yet but watch out for it. I think they film about 8 weeks in advance of airing so it could be up soon.

More stuff on my site and dkemepire.com will be update in the next two weeks with full information updates.

This is totally the wrong time to answer this, running back and forth from from one room to the next, taking caps of Wildfire for another site, but I wanted to say I was so glad someone got to hear this and brought it back. I was way to out of it to remember anything.   The many napkins are proof of that, right?  It was good to see you, even if we didn't have much time to talk before I was swept away into other things.  Another time, perhaps?
