| This page makes me uncomfortable.
I don't necessarily have a problem with people posting characters on myspace for games and suchlike, so long as it's clear that is the purpose, and they don't claim to actually be the person they are impersonating. It's when, as in this case, they are pretending to be someone that they are not, that it makes me uncomfortable. Worse - even though it's obvious to me that the page is a pretty blatent fake, there are people there who are commenting, and who do seem to believe that this is DK's page. That isn't fair to either the actor OR to the poor kid commenting.
And many established actors and musicians have myspace pages. Stephen Lynch has one, and he's really the person behind it - my husband knows him in RL. Nathan Fillion has one, and it does seem to be him who maintains it. Jewel Staite has one. There are others.
Nathan's: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=109763707
And of interest to this discussion, his comments on someone who was on myspace, pretending to be him:

| linsey (2/9/2007) ...Unfortunately, actors and the likes have names that are used all over the internet. In the end it's probably a very good thing Dominic stays away from it all!
I agree 100%. It's really best that he not know. I can only imagine...
And did you catch the weird, stalkerish video on the myspace page? It's of his back, while he's talking to someone else. Creeped me right the bleep out.

| | I agree with RoaringMice, this MySpace page is creepy. What sort of twisted person would do something like that, what do they gain from it other than laughing at the poor folk who fall for it? It is illegal and My Space should do something to stop impersonation, they're leaving themselves open to prosecution if something goes wrong, which it will one day. |

| True, there's one supposedly of Connor Trinneer on Bebo. Though I'm unsure, because there's nothing there.
