I suppose it had to happen sooner or later: someone has created a profile on MySpace, claiming to be Dominic. I won't encourage it with a link, but it's first on the list of search results for his name.

It IS fake, isn't it? I'm 99% sure it is, but I don't want to insult the man on the off chance that he (or someone else at his request) actually did create that profile!

well, I'm sure admin here will sort that out. If it's fake, they're using the photos that are for the official website, which'll make admin unhappy. And I think admin would have said something here if it was him, going by the whole 'officialdom' of here.

There are little things on it that kinda make you go 'eh?' though. Like the pics being taken from the official site and my site? Or that most of the friends are character names from enterprise? Not to mention that Dominic doesn't go online a lot, so I'm going to say it's fake, possibly being used as an rpg character type thing. I dunno. Someone's taken the time to work up a pretty accurate profile!

I don't think Dominic's fans hang out much at myspace though. So if the real one wanted to meet his fans, he wouldn't (shouldn't!) do it there!

That's because I think myspace is awful. I have an account, but only because I have idiotic friends who do so I got one because of that. Which I think is how about 50% of the myspace accounts were probably created!

The same thing happened to Linda Park too, but I doubt if it really is her page judging by the photo that someone's posted there. The last login was in November 2005!

I wonder if it's happened to other Enterprise actors too?

I'm pretty sure it's fake, partly because Dominic has said he knows nothing about computers, and partly because some of the facts are wrong.

Someone with more time on their hands than brain cells, no doubt.

I agree, all those things set off little warning bells. Not only that, but the "about me" section is merely snippets of Dominic's standard biography paragraph slightly altered to first-person context. I'm sure Dominic would write a more original description if he were to edit his own page.

That's because I think myspace is awful. I have an account, but only because I have idiotic friends who do so I got one because of that. Which I think is how about 50% of the myspace accounts were probably created!

That's why I created my account as well. It's not so bad, though, really; it's rather fun to "decorate" the page. Having my books as the background picture, I no longer have to swivel my chair 180 degrees to look at them. How's that for laziness?

I wonder if it's happened to other Enterprise actors too?

I did a quick name search. There's one result for Scott (with a photo, but otherwise empty profile), one for Connor (empty profile, but the right age), one for Jolene (completely full profile), and four for Linda (one completely full profile, three other empty ones with the right age and various locations in California).

It's a pity there isn't some sort of identity verification process for such sites...

Hi all,

Thought I should say something on this as I know for a fact it ain't DK on myspace. When I went to Lightspeed I had already found this profile on myspace. So I asked Dominic flat out if the profile that was on myspace was him and he responded NO it is not him. He is on skype but tends to stay away from the Internet as a whole.

Seriously this doesn't really matter. I mean I was hunting for DK fan group on there and none exist. I think it is really cool that some fan has stepped forward to make something for us fans on myspace of him. This is just my opinion and knowing that it is in fact fake, I'd say it isn't worth stressin' over considering myspace isn't meant for already successful actors. Sheesh relax ya'll it ain't that big a deal.

No, that isn't Dominic's account on MySpace

Side note:

Pretty interesting comments posted here from a person that was asked not to post to Dominic's forum and think we aren't smart enough to notice.

We've let you stay on this long to see if you would stop your bragging and posting about personal items. Abuse the second chance and you'll be banned again.

I think the sad thing is that people on myspace are responding to it as if it is him, which can reflect badly over time. If the person posing as him was to respond in some sort of horrible way, or go in the OTHER direction. or not repsond to something someone sent as a kind of fanmail. And considering how much these people are commenting complimenting him, it's like stealing a feel good vibe meant for someone else.

Pretending to be someone you're not is NOT cool. Using characters for rpgs is fine by me, as is all sort of fanfic really, but in this and many other cases it's pretending to be the person and trying to sucker people in. Really, no one should be gullible and not question it, but it's still unfair and slightly psychotic in the end.
