While I agree with almost everything Linsey says about Creation, this was not their first UK con.  They've run these regularly in London for years.  Last year's was postponed because their star guest - Partick Stewart - couldn't make it, hence the January event.

And since they have run cons here for so long, you'd think they'd be better at it by now!

I've never seen anything advertised though. I thought creation were the ones who wanted to run the E1 con a few years back which fell through? It seems strange that they could run them here and I would be oblivious but I guess I must have been. I honestly just don't remember any advertising!

Creation weren't responsible for E1 that was some other eejit - who probably still owes money to some of the people on this board!

Now that Hreod mentions it, I do recall Creation running cons in London in the past ... at least once that I know of - I think it was something of an annual event for a time - but my memory is not exactly reliable Odd how you forget these things!

well they certainly don't dominate here like they do in the states. we have wolf and starfury as 'conventions' and we have expo, memorabilia and the showmasters events for the other types... I rarely look past those companies anyway as I trust them to through decent cons!

And I don't think they've ever done more than one a year ... and not every year ...

I still think the fan run cons are the best I've attended - Fedcon and Utopia were excellent. Haven't been to a Wolf con but Expo etc is usually well organised and very relaxed. Great to just see the guys wandering through the crowds. Not so impressed with the memorabilia crowd at Birmingham ... not arranging to feed your guests seems like a bit of a blue do (although it did give us a great deal of fun ... lol, true. memorablilia doesn't have as much money though. I also think they just made a mistake that time and it's simply up to the guests and dominic just didn't want to move! Besides, when you've got a packed lunch made for you it's all good. And we shopped at Sainsbury's

funnest shopping trip EVER

It was indeed - the things we do for the man.  And that £10 note on the Saturday - that gave us some fun too!   He knew exactly how much change he was due!
