| it was my own fault. I drunkenly repeated to him the conversations we'd had before he was there, which meant telling him what I thought of his official site. If he feels narcisistic enough he can visit mine, which may happen once he's back in LA. I fixed it recently since discovering that over Christmas when it lay neglected, it had gone to hell a bit and no one told me But it's fixed now, and I may have to update more often considering I need to live up to the tooting of my own horn!
We'll see what happens. I don't expect anything to happen. I just hope he gets a con in the orlando area in the next year ish and I can sample an american con. Which will be strange as I have this preconceived notion of them being scary.

| | I am sure we all would gladly give DK our emails if he asked. I think at the next appearance someone should try to get him to come on here. |

| No. No. That's a VERY BAD IDEA. He'd think we were all off our rockers.

| | At Lightspeed I asked him if he did visit this ... his response was he was way too busy to visit. He also isn't into doing forums. He did say he does appreciate our existance as he likes when we can answer each others questions about him. |

I still stand by my earlier statement... he should hire you to do his site. American cons can be scary it depends on which one you go to. The Vegas one is always off the hook crazy. The Sacramento one is chill. I am sure that DK (if he had the power) would make a con occur in Florida just for you Lindsey. The smaller the venue the better the event tends to be in my expierence. As it is more likely that you will have time to chat with DK. Anyway keep up the fantastic work! |

| yeah, I'd never go to one of the HUGE creation cons. Not after the small london one we just did which has been hellish. Everything good that came out of it didn't actually have anything to do with creation or the con... it all happened 'after hours' (I suppose). And creation have managed to give themselves a blow to their already poor rep in britain by taking more money from us than necessary.
NEVER AGAIN. I will not go to a creation con again unless it really is my last resort. (I better not speak to soon I suppose)
But yeah, a small con is fine. Even anything the size of a big british con. But attitudes in each country are different when it comes to the con experience. As such, it's difficult to feel quite so comfortable. Crowds or not, a con to an american seems a different beast to a con for the brits. It simply comes down to culture in the end!

| | Yeah it's definetly a culture thing. But I keep in mind I am going to have fun. Yes, most of the "fun" happens when nothing official is going on...especially when DK is involved. Creation cons definetly have their down points but one thing to Creations credit is if it weren't for them we wouldn't get to see our guys as often as we have the ability to. |

| ah well, maybe not for you guys but for us, this was creation's first UK con.. and quite possibly their last going by how it went down. We do much better without them and for much better pricing.
British cons have a very good rep and guests love coming here. When some actors first try out the con experience, it's been known for them to do UK cons first to test the waters. You tend to find that with the british being more reserved, the guests are left alone more often than in, as far as rumours go, they are in American cons and as such relax a lot more.
You get a lot out of it sometimes if you let the guest come to you as opposed to the other way around. My first cons were stargate cons and in some ways I learned the hard way of how to get used to being around the actors. By the time I met dominic it was old hat and it's much easier to be as relaxed as possible. Less embarrassment!
I've only ever been to one american con but it was a timy local con with authors and as such, doesn't give a huge taste. But I did enjoy it for it's relaxed atmosphere. I just don't think creation are very good at putting that across. They seemed far too regimented for my liking in London.
Bryan (Wolf cons) runs around like a wild man during his cons, and they don't run to schedule, but no one ever cares because we know he's running it well. No one leaves without an autograph and the majority are always personalised unless specific actors really don't have the time to do them for popularity. If it means the auto sessions go on for an extra two hours then so be it.
Creation seem to want your money more often that wanting you to have a good con experience. That's just my impression of course, but I don't think I'm alone in that.
