| | I've got a collection of autographs from actors on various tv shows and the thing that stands out is Dominic's autograph. While other actors sign with a squiggle and you can't read the signature, or they just use initials - Dominic writes his name clearly and you can read it perfectly. What do you think about his autograph? |

| | I'm no handwriting expert but I'd say the pic on the left was taken when he was just starting off as Malcolm? Although he looks laid back he seems quite casual, as though he's posing for a friend. The pic on the right I'm guessing was taken 4 years later? In that one he looks firm and in command. Even his signature looks more forceful and he emphasises it by putting Lt. Reed. He's said before that he grew on the show and gained more confidence about being in front of the camera and the pics and his autograph seem to show it! |

| the photos themselves don't show any remarkable difference. the first is season 1 promo shot, the other is season 2 promo shot. Dominic just uses whatever batch of photos he has in at the time to do signings.
I've seen quite a few where he used smaller handwriting. Most (likely all?) of mine are larger and spread over the last 3 years. But I find I do the same thing when doing writing over and over again. It's actually easier to write larger for your wrist.
There are also some autos of Dominic's out there from the fedcon 2005 that were different as he'd injured his wrist and couldn't write properly. He also had the bandage on at the expo straight after but my autos from then look like his normal handwriting. But some from that con also are a bit weirder too! (he may have tried to give the dkeb lot the best of his handwriting, lol)
I would like to say to anyone out there buying from ebay to be very careful. When I do searches on Dominic's name in case anything good in the way of merch comes up there are always a lot of autos and many of them are fakes. Either copies of his sig (easily done with tracing paper, btw, I saw an expose about it once on tv) or complete fakes that are not his handwriting in the first place. Be careful! If you're not sure, check with someone who has his auto so they can tell you what they think. I've seen it with many actors, including the other ent ones so same applies there too. Having said that, some are genuine. Though i don't sell my dominic ones (most are personalised anyway so couldn't if I tried!) I have sold on a few I bought in the past from creation when I began to overflow (decided to concentrate on ones I had got myself at cons) and those were genuine and I know others out there are too.
Just since we're talking sigs I thought I'd throw that little word of caution in there too

| Thanks for the warning Linsey. I've no way of telling whether mine are genuine or not even though they all have COAs. Unfortunately I am unable to get to cons so have to make do with second best.
By the way, I was under the impression that the pic on the right was a season four promo. Have I got that wrong?

| season 2. There are many shots of all the cast with the black background. There were no season 4 promos made. Likely part of the budget cuts.
Sometimes the best thing to do is latch onto someone going to a con and get them to get you an autograph. That way you can even get it personalised. We're normally all more than willing to help anyone out as most of the cons Dominic have done haven't had any autograph limits either. (some cons do limit to three but only the likes of wolf cons because of their set up)
