we should just once and for all do a big caps lock on wiki and say ten times he's not married. maybe then whoever keeps re-editing it will get the hint.

I keep careful eye on DK's wiki now so that I can catch, as early as possible, these sort of innacuracies. IMDB I can only suggest changes to. Wiki I can, and do, edit. Brutally, when necessary. But always politely. And with references.

I'm afraid this wiki-monitoring makes me a rabid fan. I'm scaring myself. ;)

Have you noticed on imdb that Linda is down as being married to Tom Hardy? I've never heard about a marriage so I suppose they've got that wrong too!

Startrek.com obviously picked up the info from Wiki or imdb which were both wrong and it's sort of self-perpetuating ... we keep correcting the imdb entry and someone else keeps changing it back! Not that his marital status is really any of our business, I guess, but it's still nice to get things right!

Anyone else notice how inaccurate IMDB is when it comes to DK? To me it is annoying. When you fill out a correction form it takes FOREVER!

I read on a movie web page that there's gonna be a Beowulf and Grendel movie released in Dec 2006. It's a live action movie so I started worrying that Dominic's movie would be in competition with it.

But I didn't need to worry. They say about Dominic's movie that the idea of animation is intriguing and that "we're highly optimistic and the cast is pretty fantastic." - Course it's fantastic, Dominic's in it!

Thanks Wadjilla for that info - by the time the movie's released we're all gonna be experts on Beowolf!

I've found another link that simplifies the story. It still doesn't mention Old Cain but does mention the family of Cain, so maybe Hollywood are building on to the story and Dominic's role sets the scene for the whole story.

What great news. I found some websites that might shed some light on the character, but as Sal says this is Hollywood and…, well you know the score.

In Beowulf, Cain is depicted as the ancestor of many monsters. Grendel is a descendant of Cain.

Old Cain is THE Cain as far as I'm aware - someone correct me if I'm wrong. And - it's a while since I've read it - I'm pretty sure Cain is mentioned in passing but is not really in the tale. Doesn't Grendel attack because the minstrels are singing stories of the Creation? However, this is Hollywood after all - who knows what they'll do with it :D

I don't know if this is right or not, but I came across these pieces of info:

"Cain is the progenitor of trolls, elves and monsters."

"Grendel, the child of Cain."

I know Grendel is the monster in the story, so is Old Cain the father or grandfather of the monster? If so, is Dominic playing some kinda evil character or a benign grandfather type?

I agree PJinNH. But we still don't know how big a role it is - I've tried to find out if Old Cain features a lot in the story, but no success.

Still, once they get to hear Dominic and how great his voice is, he might get offered more voice overs. But not TOO many cos we want to actually see him on the screen in all his gorgeousness! :)

You know how he's playing Old Cain, well I wonder if he'll have to sound old for the part? He's so good with accents and altering his voice so he sounds a perfect choice for the role.

Maybe he might get more of those kind of roles - after all, Tom Hanks and Robin Williams have made a career out of it!

I hope they list the cast in alphabetical order - he'd come after Angelina Jolie but before John Malkovich - how cool does that sound!

Great news about the film part. I'm not really keen on this sort of animation and I just hope they don't screw too much with the story - I love Beowulf too. But of course I shall go and see it, buy the DVD etc - anything for Dominic. :)

Yes! Very good. This film should be a big deal. It has some big names - Zemekis, Gaiman, and etc. I look forward to seeing it.

And Dominic has done some animated work - well, voiceovers for an animated commercial.

I received his reel as part of some things I was doing for one of the videos I'd made for work - I was listening to potential voiceover actors, and his was one of the names. I did listen to his reel very closely. Sigh.

Anyway, I do digress. He was the voiceover for the Puffs tissue commercial.

That's fantastic!!! When I started to see previews for the current animated movie "Valiant" (with the WWII pigeons), all of the British accents got me thinking... Dom's got to get into this kind of thing! He has such a delicious accent. :P

Dominic just asked me to post that he has been cast in Beowolf, an old English fable that will be made into a movie. It's Motion Caption so it wont really be him, but it will look like him. (What's Motion Caption? Polar Express was a Motion Caption film.)

Dominic will be playing Old Cain.

Also in the film are: Ray Winstone, Angelina Jolie, Sir Anthony Hopkins and John Malkovich.

Filming begins in October 20, 2005.
