Especially if iyou can have a drink with DK!

As to your remark of "it's not all about you Dom..." ... I think you and I both wouldn't mind if there was a con that was all DK.

RE: Dominic on Ebay

I still think Zoe's face when she came back and found Connor sitting at our table was also priceless. Yet one more instance of 'if someone important comes they can have my seat'

wait... for me that time was different though. I shared that time ;)

of course, let's not forget the bum rubbing against the glass, or my embarassing shout later on outside of "it's not always about YOU dominic" when we all went back to the hotel...:hehe:

Let this be a lesson to all. A con without drink is never worth it. heh :)

RE: Dominic on Ebay

Oh, that Expo dinner ... seriously a night to remember. I didn't think anything could top that until a couple of weeks ago ;) Funniest memory from the Expo dinner was coming back from the loo to discover Dominic sitting on a certain young woman's lap ... who could that have been, Linsey???:)

RE: Dominic on Ebay

london expo used to do dinner with the stars. a table of 8 people would get 2 stars at their table. we all got connor and hallie todd. dominic was at the table behind us, but he came over once he got bored. From my Lightspeed experience that is about right. Except I was surrounded by trek celebs...Connor, Garrett, Dominic, and Denise!

This was meant as just a joke... but it is still an interesting idea...:Whistling:

RE: Dominic on Ebay

p.s. what's with the whole buying/selling preprint autographs though? why would anyone want something that's basically just a glorified photocopy??

that's a craze I just don't understand at all.

RE: Dominic on Ebay

here's 1 to start with. I had found another bad one a few days ago but now I can't find it, the auction may have ended but it was also horrendous. someone had tried to get closer to his sig on that one but I could still spot the problems in it.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/DOMINIC-KEATING-SIGNED-ENTERPRISE-DISPLAY-UACC_W0QQitemZ6632017597QQihZ012QQcategory
Z69536QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem

dominic never just signs his initials, it's also not his handwriting in the one above.
The only different ones you'll find are if you get an autograph signed at the 2005 fedcon when he injured his hand. At that point it got a bit wobbly for a while. but he never signed less than his full name then either, and that was with a dodgy hand.
but there are many that anyone can spot simply by looking at say a sample of 5 autographs and deciding on similarities and differences in the basic handwriting. i've seen some dreadful ones of jolene's and I don't even have hers myself. I just simply go by what I've seen on the official trading cards versus some that turned up on ebay occasionally.

other ones of dominic I've had a quick look at at the moment .... difficult to say for sure. some look slightly dodgy but I don't want to be wrong in case they were signed in a hurry outside the paramount lot a few years ago (sellers don't always get their autographs at conventions after all) or like I said, at that fedcon (or expo that came after, but he signed ours as best he could back then so he was healing at that point anyway).

the difficulty is in trusting COAs. As much as they should be there to make something authentic, it is still something you whip up on your computer and sign so anyone can make them. if i wanted to sell ones i got in person, i could make a COA and pass on something on ebay, but I'm also of the opinion that I could forge dominic's sig better than the one above (for example) and also make a COA for that.

I'm not trying to put you off buying autos on ebay, hell, I have sold some in the past. I decided I wanted all my autos to have been ones I got myself in person, so I got rid of ones I had collected at a charity auction in the past. After doing cons for a while, I began to figure it's not just the autograph that I want anyway (and dominic knows that by now too going by how many some of us have :doze: ). It's about getting personalisations, jokes from that weekend's event, and the quality time with the actor. Heck, even at a creation con!

But for others obviously who can't get to a con for any reasons, it's nice to know that what you get in your hands at the end of the day is authentic. best thing to say to anyone is, if you have any doubt, even if you think it's unfounded and you're worrying yourself over nothing, ask someone else their opinion!

9 times out of 10 they are genuine, and people just want to make a living. but it's that 1 person who gives the rest a bad name. usual drill.

RE: Dominic on Ebay

[quote]And with so many lovely new fakes showing up on ebay, you can bid here knowing it's genuine! Rather than see the item wasted he autographed it and gave it to me to sell on eBay. ALL the proceeds from this sale will be going to Dominic's chosen charity, Unicef. The donation, 100% of the winning bid, will automatically be made by eBay via Missionfish.

It's a book and DVD set called 'Simply Golf - Back to Basics'. There is a photo of Dominic holding the autographed set on the eBay listing.

The eBay listing number is: 230078150915

This is a great opportunity to buy some 100% guaranteed authentic Dominic memorabilia and do good at the same time!

I'll be letting Dominic know how much the donation was, so let's show him how much we love him. :)
