| | Here I thought someone would happily post away about the weekend. I know at least /one/ of you got back yesterday. *clears throat* Eiri... Where's the "here's what went down.."? I did get to go myself through the phone, how amazing that was, but for like two minutes. So other than that while everyone was having a great party, here I sat, working on a web page for someone else, while getting an image of Dominic in my head every time I typed in new code. And.. some other crazy stuff that happens while I work on html. Finally got the page ready, but the host site's down. Go figure. I want to go to a con besides Vegas! :p So... *waits on the edge of chair*

| | So here's what went down... I arrived a little bit later than I'd intended, but still plenty early enough. So after taking care of the necessary stuff I went to say hi to Dominic. He was sitting there one table over from Connor, looking resplendent in blue T with white undershirt, (from time to time through the day wearing a padded vest and scarf over the top of them). We exchanged greetings and I discovered that only the day before he'd actually been in Leicester, driving through my home town while I was out working. We stopped the conversation we were having when some more folks came up to him and I went for a wander before it was time for photos. He was, of course, his usual 'bad boy,' though charming self, playing around and teasing - well anything else just wouldn't be Dominic. There were a lot more men getting their picture taken with him this time than I'd seen before - probably down to Heroes I expect. He started teasing the guys whose pictures came out okay first time, calling them pros, "The pros are in now," he said which of course jinxed the whole thing and everyone after that took two, sometimes three attempts by the photographer to get something he was happy with. When it came to my turn we were kind of talking conspiratorially as we posed about how I blinked in Vegas. Speaking of Vegas and the photo ops there, I have to take my hat off to the Showmasters photographer - very professional, and actually /checking/ that the shot was okay before letting each person move on. In the world of digital photography, how hard is /that/ to do. Come on Creation! You don't /have/ to print them all, just the ones that work out. Anyway... I digress. After photographs it was the Q&A... this was, on the whole, about Enterprise. Of course it had been billed that way, and anyone that has seen Dominic and Connor on stage together before doesn't really need /me/ to describe the kind of antics they get up to. They were on /fine/ form. Someone started out by asking Connor about Trip's death in 'the episode that shall not be named' and then why it was that Trip got all the good looking girls... I'm sure you can imagine what Dominic did with /that/ question... comments which ranged from 'Well just look at him' to 'I'd do him!' and every shade of colour in between. Many of the usual questions came up, including one about Heroes, the answer to which was almost word for word from various other sources - guess he has a 'you can say this' instruction from NBC. At one point in time during the Q&A Dominic 'ran off' to pretend to go to lunch with Craig Charles who was walking out with a woman on each arm... Dominic kept asking 'How does he do it' and 'How many lives does that man have' and it was very funny but you probably had to be there. Then someone asked about practical jokes, and Connor started to tell a story about the sound guys recording some of Dominic's vocal indiscretions (that's my polite way of saying 'swearing') and then playing them back to him at a most inappropriate time - well talk about inappropriate times, Dominic started to give a demonstration of his considerable ability to use colourful language, only to realise there were children in the audience and instantly (apologising) and rather cutely cover his face with his hands. I think he /tried/ to behave after that. One of the funniest moments for me at least, was listening to two grown men croon and whisper the word 'whisp' at each other for about a minute, after he and Connor had 'argued' as to whether there were ever any wraiths on Enterprise. All too soon though the talk was done, and they both bundled up again to go back to signing autographs. I had a couple of other opportunites to speak with Dominic over the course of the day, during one of which he was very kind enough to speak to Mirrani on my telephone for a few minutes. We've decided to give him lessons in 'Southern' after his attempt at a Southern accent. LOL, maybe he should speak to Connor about that one... (which he does remarkably well considering he's not from the South). And of course watching him turn the whole place upside down to look for a silver pen to write 'Species IV:Awakening' onto his sign was kind of fun in a topsy turvy way... especially as he'd just said how much he loved that part, then in the next breath said he'd forgotten he was in that. Poor guy, it was getting late by then... Anyway, he was very funny, charming, sweet, sometimes vulnerable, an absolute pleasure to meet and speak with again. I had a wonderful day... and then of course then came back here to 'give [his] **&&&** love to' our home town.

Poor guy, it was getting late by then... It wasn't actual 'southern' he needed work on, it was his 'Carolinian' there's a difference. Sounds like it was a good time for you then. Shoulda wowed and chuckled over Beowolf at him. It was probably the first time he'd get that if he was over there and it opened over here the night before.

| Yep yep! Got home exhausted, that's usually a fair sign that I've had a fun day. Looking forward to the next time of course... and it would have been nice to have been able to meet some other folk, but... that's the way it goes, I guess.Yes you should have said something about Beowulf... considering what you told me on the phone anyway. Would have been funny to have seen that conversation happening.

| | yeah, that kind of comment is just his style. But it had nothing to do with what /he/ did, so... *shrug* I have to say, between hearing the stories of filming in Vegas and seeing it finished.. It was much cooler watching it. I ended up with /so/ many questions after the fact.
