| Gosh... A 12 and a half hour drive... Normally I'd say there's no way in the world, /but/ we could turn it into a weekend.. I mean.. Suffolk Downs is right there... But let me guess, you won't be over here for this one either, hm? (to Eiri)

| | *Homegirl again reaches for her term dates* AH HAH! All assuming that the Head disagregates the inset days at the beginning of the Summer Holidays (or I just tell him I can't do them) I should be able to fly over on the day /before/,(that Thursday) and drive up with you on the Friday. Either that or fly straight into Boston, but that would mean that you'd have to drive up by yourself, and I wouldn't want you to have to do that. It's a while away, so we'll keep our eye on things, yeah?

| | Yeah, this one we /do/ need to plan for. NY's easy, Drive nine hours, stay with Bob, do the con, drive nine hours back. I could do it in my sleep, I've done that so many times. Not that I encourage sleeping at the wheel! When it gets that bad, stay outside of Baltimore. Another thing you need to think of is that you may need to work around the VIF schedule.. if you'd be coming at the beginning of the year. You may /have/ to be over here earlier? I know nothing of this, forgive my ignorance of all but what we talk about.

| I don't know about the schedule either. All I know right now is that the earliest date I can make application to VIF is November... but I'll keep in mind that I might have to work around it. Hopefully /will/ have to work around it.

| seems like a good con BUT they are announcing names before contracts are signed (bit iffy to do) and it is 10 months away or whatever. I think I'll wait until nearer the time before deciding. I expect that site to change a lot in the next year. I know a lot of con sites that won't advertise any stars until 3 months out! things always change...

| | Yeah, believe me, we have tons of experience with how cons can change around before you know it. Some places have a real reputation of saying all kinds of things to keep their names in a good light. Oh, it's the star's fault they're not coming when really it's the con's problem or whatever.. All kinds of "how'd /that/ happen?" come to mind. I have a fairly good sense of when to go and when not to go, thank goodness... The nice thing about being willing and able to drive is you can just go up if its confirmed or just stay home if it's canceled. There's no loss of flight money or whatever. I /love/ the drive, getting there's half the fun, so anything on the east coast, unless there's a time crunch, I'll drive to it, in all hours of the night. Still, it's been /ages/ since we've been to anything over here. Looking forward to the hope of it is half the fun.
